Loys Lucha - Signed - 1925 French Art Deco Pendant Chandelier Ceiling Light - Egyptian Poppies. An original French Art Deco suspension plafonnier, created circa 1925 by the renowned glass manufacture of Loys Lucha. This is the magnificent, extemely rare "Egyptian Poppies" design, in translucent enamel over glass, a technique that Loys Lucha is famous for. In French Art Deco lighting, comparable designs and quality can only be found among some of the works of Leune, a Daum related company in Nancy.

The company was based in Boulogne-sur-Seine near Paris, France, at the epicenter of pre-modernism Art Deco, and was active from around 1915 to the early 1930s. The fine, original round glass bowl is approximately 14 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep. It features a layered geometric ornament of three lush Egyptian Poppy blossoms over their leaves in green and teal, balanced by a circular golden color accent in the center and a terracota colored weave at the perimeter of the bowl. The bowl is suspended from a large, classically decorated 5.5 inch diameter canopy, made of chrome-plated solid bronze. Three elegant, reeded suspension arms, also of chrome-plated solid bronze, conceal all electrical wiring.

Each arm supports an articulating light bulb socket, capable of floating standard U. Household light bulbs (up to 100 Watts each) safely above the glass. The entire suspension is finished to a sparkling sheen. The overall height is about 16 inches.

The quality is outstanding, you can hear the solid bronze ring when installing the chandelier. The plafonnier is in immaculate condition, and is properly signed.

All electrics have been rewired with UL listed, U. Household compatible parts, and include a connector to the house AC line. Mounting hardware is also included, and consists of a high quality standard U. Ceiling crossbar and a nipple bolt.

Light bulbs or crossbar screws are not included, as these are specific to each home. We take great care in our restoration work, we admire Art Deco, and we love our customers. The last image demonstrates some of the benefits of our plafonniers compared to other offers. You are not likely to find anything at the exact same level of quality and detail on the market.
