Louis Phillippe fled France during the Revolution of 1848, which was sparked by massive economic inequality. When this poster was created, in 1894, the French president Carnot, highly popular for his integrity, was assassinated by an Italian anarchist as the Dreyfus Affair played out. It measures approximately 38 7/8 x 53.5 inches, and is in B+ condition (slight tears at edges).
