Fabulous French advertising sign from circa 1920's. This unique sign is made out of thin iron and painted in light brown or sand colour with black lettering. The sign originates from Bourg-et-Comin area in northern France near the Belgium border. The sign has a nice little touch as it has a house number "N° 210" in the left bottom corner. CUISINE DE FAMILLE it can't get better then that.
This amazing sign is not only decorative but it is also a part of history. It bears two battle scars - two bullet holes.
Probably around July of 1944, the building where this hotel was housed was damaged or even destroyed, but luckily someone has taken good care of this sign and tucked it somewhere safe. This one of a kind sign deserves a good home, it belongs to be displayed and enjoyed. As you can see, it is a little rusty and shows signs of time and battle, just the way it should look after all it's been through, looks perfect! Sign is 69cm by 40cm and weight is approx 4.2kg. The item "Rare Vintage Advertising Sign, Antique Shop Sign, French Restaurant Sign" is in sale since Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
